About the Collaborative
The Contra Costa Health and Bioscience Careers Collaborative is a unique partnership between industry
and education strategically focused on building the health and bioscience workforce in Contra Costa
County in order to meet the societal need for skilled and caring workers in the years to come.
The Collaborative is dedicated to pursuing a comprehensive, long-term strategy to address the growing
need for health and bioscience workers. In addition to providing an ongoing forum for dialogue and
sharing amongst the partners, our three main goals are to:

Create and support industry/education partnerships that expand the capacity of our health and
bioscience education and training programs, as well as ensure that there are seamless transitions
for students at all levels of education.

Market health and bioscience careers to students, parents and career counselors, with a strong
emphasis on reaching populations traditionally underrepresented in the health and bioscience
career fields.

Act as a resource for government and elected officials on the health and bioscience workforce in
Contra Costa County, as well as influence public policy on this issue.
